November 1, 2004 Dear Bettye,
On September 11, our nation faced the worst attack in our history.
On that day, we had to confront reality. Our people were brave in their response.
At the time, we believed we would be attacked many more times that day and in the days that followed. Spontaneously, I grabbed the arm of then Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik and said to Bernie, "Thank God George Bush is our President." I've been saying that every day since.
We needed George Bush then; we need him now; and we need him for four more years!
President Bush is making certain that we are combating terrorism at the source, beyond our shores, so we can reduce the risk of having to confront it in our streets at home.
John Kerry's record of inconsistent positions on combating terrorism gives us no confidence he'll pursue such a determined course.
Terrorism did not start on September 11, 2001. It had been festering for many years.
President Bush will not submit America to a "global test" from other countries that seek to dissuade us from what is necessary for our defense.
Under President Bush, America will lead rather than follow.
President Bush is the leader we need for the next four years because he sees beyond today and tomorrow. He has a vision of a peaceful Middle East and, therefore, a safer world.
And together we have a responsibility to do all we can to give President Bush has four more years to continue winning the War on Terror and making the world safer.
Talk to your family, your friends, your coworkers and your neighbors. Make sure they understand the dramatic contrast between the President Bush and Senator Kerry.
And make sure your fellow Americans understand the power of their vote on November 2nd--and proudly tell them that, like me, you'll be voting for George W. Bush for four more years!
Sincerely,
Don't forget to vote for the Republican Team in your state!

RNC has met and exceeded our goal of registering 3 million new voters in
this cycle!Dear Bettye,
We did it!
Because of your hard work I am proud to announce that the RNC has met and exceeded our goal of registering 3 million new voters in this cycle!
As of today we have registered 3,047,073 voters.
Now is not the time to rest. With 46 days left before Election Day we can register more voters and we can continue to spread our Party's message.
President George W. Bush is attracting new voters and has historic levels of support from Republicans around the country. We are expanding our party and building coalitions that will lead us to victory in November.
We've been aggressively reaching out to all voters--Hispanics, African Americans, Asian Americans--Republicans, Democrats and Independents. On Wednesday, for example, I was in Milwaukee for the sixth stop on our African American Economic Empowerment Tour.
We see a particular opportunity with all newly registered voters who may be more interested in a leader with solutions to the challenges we face, than party allegiance. They will be hearing from the RNC and Republican state parties.
We will reach out to them with the President's positive agenda for America. Our Party's action and optimism provides a sharp contrast to the Democrats protest and pessimism.
That's why our Party is growing while their Party is shrinking.
As the Democratic Party becomes smaller, it becomes more liberal, more angry, and more hate-filled. And as the Democratic Party becomes more liberal, more angry, and more hate-filled, it becomes smaller.
Earlier today, during a press conference, I outlined the Kerry Campaign's latest strategic shift to a so-called "character based critique," a euphemism for character assassination. The Kerry Campaign's "character based critique" is based on some of the most dubious characters ever to engage in the American political process, which you can see in detail in this press conference transcript here.
We can expect to see more personal attacks as they continue down this path.
We believe voters will make their decision based on the clear distinction between these candidates. During our convention, President Bush outlined his Agenda for the future of America, which includes strengthening education and job training, creating new opportunity zones in our cities, increasing affordable housing and expanding homeownership, reform of the tax code, strengthening social security, and making health care more affordable.
President Bush's positive vision for a safer world and a more hopeful America are expanding out Party and energizing Republicans, Democrats, and Independents to go to the polls on November 2 and vote for Republicans.
Keep up the great work!
September 11, 2004 September 11, 2004
Three years ago, our country was ruthlessly attacked, and more than 3,000 innocent people lost their lives. We will always remember the victims: sons and daughters, husbands and wives, dads and moms, family members, co-workers, and friends. And we will always be inspired by the heroism and decency of our fellow citizens on that day. Police, firefighters, emergency rescue personnel, doctors, nurses, and many others risked their own lives to save the lives of their fellow citizens. They demonstrated the great character and bravery of our Nation, and they embody the great spirit of America.
Since September 11th, America has fought a relentless war on terror around the world. We are staying on the offensive in this war -- striking the terrorists abroad so we do not have to face them here at home. We pray that God watch over our brave men and women in uniform and all who are waging this war and working to keep A merica safe. And we pray for their families. In the face of danger, America is showing its character. Three years after the attack on our country, Americans remain strong and resolute, patient in a just cause, and confident of the victory to come.
By a joint resolution approved December 18, 2001 (Public Law 107-89), the Congress has designated September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day."
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim September 11, 2004, as Patriot Day. I call upon the Governors of the United States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as appropriate officials of all units of government, to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Patriot Day. I call upon the people of the United States to observe Patriot Day with appropriate ceremonies and activities, including remembrance services, to display the flag at half-staff from their homes on that day, and to observe a moment of silence be ginning at 8:46 a.m. eastern daylight time to honor the innocent victims who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this tenth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand four, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and twenty-ninth.

July 17, 2004 -- Medal of Honor Recipients Support President Bush
[Open letter to veterans signed by twenty-one Medal of Honor recipients]
Dear fellow veterans:
We have listened to Senator Kerry falsely attack President Bush for months over funding for veterans, and it's time to set the record straight. The truth is President Bush has led the way on improving veterans' benefits, supporting our troops and restoring honor and dignity to the White House.
Since 2001, President Bush has increased veterans funding by over $20 billion, and funding for veterans' health care has increased by 40 percent since he took office. Funding for veterans has gone up twice as fast under President Bush as it did under President Clinton, and those who accuse the President of cutting funding are simply not being honest with veterans.
Meanwhile, John Kerry voted against a $1.3 billion increase in veterans health care, skipped votes on concurrent receipt and voted against funding for our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. And while he talks a good game, Kerry's record shows he is out of the mainstream. The American Flag symbolizes our ideals, our history and our values. President Bush shares this belief and supports a Constitutional Amendment banning desecration of the Flag. John Kerry believes this is "an attack on free speech."
We are disturbed that John Kerry would try to scare veterans with his false accusations, and we are disappointed in his lack of support for today's troops. Please join us in setting the record straight and showing your support for President Bush -- a leader who has proven his support for those who have served, backs our troops defending our nation and shares our values.
Sincerely,
